This week's book of the week is, Where the Deer and the Antelope Play. A nature-centric, humorous memoir and travelogue in which Nick Offerman reflects on America’s landscapes, conservation, and our relationship with the land. Inspired by a question from writer Wendell Berry, Offerman chronicles three major journeys: a hiking trip in Jeff Tweedy and George Saunders through Glacier National Park; an extended visit to a working farm in England with his friend James Rebanks; and a cross-country Airstream road trip with his wife Megan Mullally during the 2020 pandemic. Along the way he mixes witty personal anecdotes with thoughtful discussions about national parks, ecological history, sustainable farming, stewardship of the land, and what it means to truly experience and protect the natural world. The book blends humor, outdoor adventure, and deeper musings on conservation, community, and our place in nature.
